Little Reachers | Developmental Reaching Toy for Babies

Your baby is beginning to realize something incredible: I can make things happen.

Little Reachers turns those early swipes, reaches and grabs into playful moments of discovery. Designed for babies beginning to explore reaching and grasping, the soft mittens help little hands connect with lightweight play pieces—making cause and effect easier to see, feel and repeat.

Created by neuroscientist and infant development expert Dr. Greer Kirshenbaum, Little Reachers makes early motor play simple, joyful and connected.

Presale: Be among the first to play.

How to use it

Connecting Movement to Mind

  • 🎯 Cause & Effect: When baby swipes and gets an immediate response, their brain links physical movement with outcome—the foundation of early learning.
  • 👁️ Visual Motor Loops: Repeated reaching trains the brain to coordinate visual focus with intentional arm movements.
  • 💖 Social Connection: Celebrating their tiny wins creates responsive back-and-forth interactions that strengthen secure attachment.
01

Turn swipes into learning

Every early swipe gets a satisfying response, helping baby discover intentional movement and cause and effect.

02

Calm play. Clear focus.

Skip the noisy plastic. Get a beautiful, low-stimulation sensory experience made for your baby's developing nervous system.

03

Confidence from real science

Created with neuroscientist Dr. Greer Kirshenbaum, PhD, so you can support development without pressure or milestone anxiety.

A moment together

See It in Play

Your baby notices a flower beside them. Their arm waves toward it once, then again, and suddenly it connects to their mitten.

They pause and stare at their hand.

You smile. You got it.

A tiny interaction becomes a chance to move, discover and connect.

Little Reachers | Developmental Reaching Toy for Babies

Research, translated

For real life.

Developmental researchers have used “sticky mittens” to study what happens when young babies get an opportunity to contact and move objects before conventional grasping is established.

Research has found changes in some forms of object-directed exploration after active mitten experience. A 2025 randomized trial found immediate gains in some exploration measures, but not better overall development over the following year.

Our promise: Little Reachers is designed to support exploration through movement and play—not to accelerate milestones, make babies smarter, or turn connection into a performance.

A research idea you can actually see.

This Kennedy Krieger Institute video shows the “sticky mittens” research approach that inspired Little Reachers: an early movement makes contact, an object moves, and baby gets immediate feedback.
